You will need the following material:
- an auger (diameter = 3 cm)
- an allen key (diameter = 4 mm)
- a compass
Here are the steps to follow:
- Choose your location.
Choose a flat and uncovered area.
Avoid proximity to walls, buildings, trees and any other obstacle that could block the anemometer from the wind.
Ideally, the distance between the anemometer and an obstacle should be more than 10 times the obstacle's height and 15 times its width. - Make a hole that is 50 cm deep using an auger (diameter = 3 cm).
- Push in the anemometer's pole until the green mark is reached.
Place the pole of the anemometer with the green mark facing down. Then push the pole until that green mark.
- Assemble the anemometer using the Allen key (diameter = 4 mm).
- Use a compass to point the white mark on the sensor towards the North.
This will allow you to know the wind direction.
- Screw the antenna on the anemometer's box.
- Add the cups.
- Assemble the weather vane (2 parts) then position it above the cups.
Push the weathervane in until you hear a "click", which means that the cups and weathervane are properly installed.
-
Seal the hole at the pole to ensure the anemometer's stability.
- Pick up the sensor's serial number, it will be asked to connect it to the Weenat-App.
- Log in to the Weenat-App.
Add the sensor to the App by clicking on the + (located in the top right corner of your screen) then on A sensor. Add the anemometer's serial number.
- Link your sensor to your plot by following the steps in this article 👉How to link a sensor to my plot?
The synchronisation of the data between the sensor and the app can take up to 15 minutes, just in time for a coffee break 😉.
