  • Updated

🔧 Required equipment

  • A new tipping bucket (available from Weenat Support or your distributor)

  • A small flathead screwdriver

🎥 Video tutorial

This video shows the necessary steps to carry out this procedure. Since the video is in French, you can find a detailed step-by-step guide below.

📝 Step-by-step guide

  1. Remove the funnel by pulling it upwards.
  2. Unscrew the nut and washer that hold the spoon in place inside the rain gauge:

❗During this operation, try to keep the spoon facing downwards so that no ‘phantom’ rainfall is recorded.

  3. Once the spoon has been removed from the rain gauge, unscrew the two wires from terminals 3 and 4 using the flat screwdriver:

  4. Screw the two wires to terminals 3 and 4 on your new spoon.
  5. Replace the spoon in the rain gauge, taking care not to pinch the wires between the metal plate and the edge of the rain gauge.

  6. Screw the nut back on to secure the scoop to the rain gauge.
  7. Test your spoon: pass a magnet over the right side of the sensor case. When the diode stays red, flip the spoon three times. You should see 6 mm of rain in your app.
  8. Replace the funnel and check that both it and the plate are level.

You may be asked to return your spoon for analysis. In this case, note the sensor number on a label attached to the spoon.
