You will need the following materials:
- a cloth
- water
Here are the steps to follow:
The day before
- Generously moisten the soil around the tensiometer.
Remove the blue cap located on the stem of the sensor and fill the stem with water.
On the big day
- Repeat the process from the day before. Moisten the soil again, remove the blue cap once more, and refill the stem with water.
- Lightly dig around the tensiometer. Dig a few centimeters to free the probe.
Important: never pull on the electronic casing. If resistance is encountered, moisten the soil again rather than forcing it.
- Remove the tensiometer by holding it by its metal foot.
Gently pull until the probe is completely removed. Do not shake the tensiometer to avoid damaging the Watermark sensor.
- Clean your tensiometer.
Rinse it with clean water and then dry it with a clean cloth.
- Store your tensiometer properly.
Store it horizontally in a dry place.
Good to know: your sensor consumes 12 times less energy when it is lying down.
