How do I test my Weenat Tensiometer?

  • Updated

If you want to test your tensiometers before reinstalling them, or if you have doubts about one during the season, here is a simple test to check if your sensor is responding properly:

  1. Soak the ceramic tip of your tensiometer in water for several hours. It must be fully submerged. If possible, perform this test outdoors so the sensor can transmit data properly.
  2. After 24 hours, log in to the app and check the latest values sent by your sensor. The pressure (kPa) should have dropped between 0 and 10.
  3. Take the opportunity to check that your tensiometer is also returning a soil temperature value by filtering on the data Soil temperature (tensio).

If in doubt, feel free to contact our customer support at support@weenat.com and provide the sensor number(s) tested and the time you started the test.
