If you want to test your tensiometers before reinstalling them, or if you have doubts about one during the season, here is a simple test to check if your sensor is responding properly:
- Soak the ceramic tip of your tensiometer in water for several hours. It must be fully submerged. If possible, perform this test outdoors so the sensor can transmit data properly.
- After 24 hours, log in to the app and check the latest values sent by your sensor. The pressure (kPa) should have dropped between 0 and 10.
- Take the opportunity to check that your tensiometer is also returning a soil temperature value by filtering on the data Soil temperature (tensio).
If in doubt, feel free to contact our customer support at support@weenat.com and provide the sensor number(s) tested and the time you started the test.
